Artist Spotlight Interview | FEB 2020

How did you arrive in Pittsburgh? I grew up in Sewickley, PA and after college I moved back home. I lived there for a while and then moved to the city. I love how green and lush it is in the summer and when it snows in the winter in the woods.

What hidden gem in Pittsburgh should we not miss? The little green house and garden on the Frick grounds near the museum. I go often to walk on the grounds because it's really pretty and free.

Beverage of choice? Hot Chocolate!

What’s the biggest challenge in your artistic practice right now? Keeping my artwork child-like and unfussy, and also more specific in color.

What special interest, skill, or information do you bring to the Radiant Hall community? My special interest is learning about female painters and illustrators that are lesser known. I have a lot of books of the ones I admire in my studio.

What’s next for you? I recently started doing more illustration; writing stories, making books and animations from my drawings and paintings. It's exciting and I've been really enjoying the new challenge or structure that the narrative brings and how it can connect to people, children and adults in a different way.
