“Radiant Hall’s facilities suit my needs: clean, quiet, with a well regulated thermostat. My studio-mates are wonderful company and have also become resources for skill-sharing and friendly impromptu critiques. I look forward to watching RH continue to grow as a cultural institution in the city. I think that there are great possibilities here.”

Atiya Jones is from Flatbush (Brooklyn), NY and has been a RH member since December 2017. She is an autodidactic creator of abstract organic accumulations that an apopheniac might call patterns. Her work serves as a depiction of biological functions reflected within society through line-based visual structures (ie. osmosis as migration, communities as homeostasis, gentrification as disease).

“Awesome studios for artists of all incomes. Excellent community, lots of resources and connections.”

Evan is from Ridgefield, Washington and has been a RH member since September 2017. By trade, he is a public school art teacher, but he tries to maintain a professional practice as well. Evan’s artwork consists of mixed-media, often confronting dichotomies, contradictions, and ironies within pop-culture ideals.

“Radiant Hall creates communities and by that it changes the city environment in many positive ways. As a migrant, it created a way for me to belong. It changed the way I feel in Pittsburg and in the US. It was transformative.”

Dafna is an Israeli-born artist and art therapist and has been a RH member since February 2013. She has been residing, working, and exhibiting in the Pittsburgh area for the last ten years. Dafna’s work is informed by a critical, feminist, and multicultural approach. She deals with themes that are related to survival. Identity and healing and their complex relationship to migration, religious constraints, war, and the female experience.

“Having a studio at RH has provided a much needed and dedicated work space outside of my home (and kids). The conversations that I’ve had with my studio mates have helped me through figuring out questions about displays, pricing, accounting, sourcing materials, and discovering new resources. They have been invaluable to my growth as an artist and businesswoman.”

Rona is originally from Chungli, Taiwan and has been a RH member since June 2015. She began as a serious maker/designer. Her company, Otto Finn, became an LLC in 2017. She is currently partnering with two other local designers to open a storefront called Make + Matter in Lawrenceville (3711 Butler St.), which opened July 2018.
