Teal Fitzpatrick

My work is the process of making the invisible visible and the unsayable tangible, using symbolism, archetypal images, and intuitive expression to create interpretations of emotional experience. My preferred medium, rug making, is my practice of truth-telling and truth-making. As a former psychotherapist, I understand the transformative power of deep attention and listening. My relationship with my work is framed by that same deep attention, as well as curiosity and nonjudgmental acceptance of the images and ideas that emerge through the creative process. At this time, I am particularly interested in the emotional impact of color, and the myriad ways to conjure depth and space in two-dimensions.
