Peter Vercilla

Peter is a self-taught painter and photographer using acrylic, oil and mixed media to create images that evoke a feeling, neither right or wrong, that just are. Having trained as an architect and biologist the built and natural worlds have always fascinated him in their similarity, geometry, mimicry and color. He has a deep interest in not only how color affects the emotions and memory, but the tactile surface of his paintings. He has been building up the surfaces of his paintings and embedding found objects into the paint and canvas to create a perceived 3D world for the viewer. His goal is to elicit emotion and a connection with his work.
