Lacey Murray
Lacey Mills Murray is an artist living and working in Pittsburgh, PA. Her preferred medium is acrylic on canvas, but she also dabbles in watercolor painting, pastel drawing, and mixed media. Murray seeks to make the world a little more beautiful of a place through the imagery she presents in her work.
Originally from West Virginia, Murray earned her BFA in Painting + Teacher Certification from West Virginia University. She began her career as an art teacher at a rural middle/high school in WV, where she taught for six years. In 2016, a job opportunity at the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, where she currently serves as an art exhibition/residency project manager, brought her to the city.
Murray started renting a studio space in Pittsburgh with the Radiant Hall group in June 2019. She hasn't had a stable studio practice since undergraduate school and is currently working to establish that and develop a new body of work.
