Larry Berger

Larry Berger is Founder and Executive Director of SLB Radio Productions (SLB), a team which uses radio and audio to support projects involving youth expression, oral history collection, and youth journalism. Under his leadership, SLB has won fourteen local, state and national awards for broadcast excellence for The Saturday Light Brigade, a weekly public radio program blending acoustic music, puzzles, interviews and live performances that has aired since 1978 and today is distributed to a network of 10 stations from SLB studios co-located in the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh. SLB also operates several audio distribution platforms, including Youth Express (a 24/7 blend of original writing, music and discussion from area youth at youthexpress.org) and interactive StoryBox devices (audio playback devices, see slbradio.org/sb), and Pittsburgh Youth Media (a youth journalism site at pghyouthmedia.org).
