Schereéya Reed
Schereéya (he/fae) is a multi-disciplinary artist and poet based in Pittsburgh with roots in the US South. A Master’s Degree in Theatre from University of York (UK) and years of lived experience inform Schereéya’s writing, multi-media and performance work. Some recent credits include author of “Prayers & Pixies” (RedHawk Publications, 2021); Dramaturg and Script Supervisor for “Underland X Alice” at New Hazlett Theatre (Pittsburgh); Dramaturg for the Young Playwright’s festival at City Theatre (Pittsburgh); teaching artist for Write Pittsburgh, and The Mattress Factory (Pittsburgh); and directing “Myles Away,” a virtual play produced by Chronic Insanity Theatre (Nottingham, UK) which went on to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (2022.) Deep reverence for the magic of the planet and humanity, as well as questions like “how did we all get here” and “why here, why now, why this green rock hurtling through space” spark the generation of Schereéya’s practice.
