June Group Critique w/ .Pedantic Residents

Group Critiques are open to for anyone from the general arts community and Radiant Hall artists to participate. Space is limited to 10 artists. Anyone is welcome to sign up for a 10 minute critique visit - first come first serve.

Chenoa Baker is a curator, wordsmith, and descendant of self-emancipators. Art spaces as incubators for intergroup dialogue and imaginative portals were her foray into curatorial work.

Akea Brionne is an interdisciplinary researcher and artist, exploring the relationship between post-colonial creole identity and social geography.

Chad Bilyeu is a writer, art director and photographer, originally from Cleveland, Ohio. He lives and works in Amsterdam, and has captured his experiences with the Dutch way of life in the autobiographical comic book series 'Chad in Amsterdam' (2018- ).

Critiques provide an opportunity for artists to receive feedback in a group setting. Common practice in art schools, “Crits” are a way for students to share their work with each other and grow and evolve their practice. Radiant Hall’s Group Critiques are designed to give artists access to valuable feedback from peers and professionals outside of an academic institution. This program is open to all types of artists and creatives, no art education experience necessary.

The three guest critics of this group critic are well-known artists from three different fields. They will bring suggestions from different perspectives to the artists participating in the critique and use their professional knowledge to help the participants decide the way forward, lead to the development of a new series of work, guide curatorial or installation choices for a gallery exhibition, or even spark creative energy and inspire where to go next in the artist's creative endeavors.

Bring physical work to share/show or a laptop to share digital pieces. There will be nails/tacks available to hang up works during the critique.
