Group Critique w/ Carolyn Pierotti

  • Radiant Hall - McKees Rocks 734 Thompson Avenue McKees Rocks, PA, 15136 United States (map)

Critique Theme: Finding Representation.

Critiques provide an opportunity for artists to receive feedback in a group setting. Common practice in art schools, “Crits” are a way for students to share their work with each other and grow and evolve their practice. Radiant Hall’s Group Critiques are designed to give artists access to valuable feedback from peers and professionals outside of an academic institution. This program is open to all types of artists and creatives, no art education experience necessary.

Hearing how an audience perceives your artwork may help you understand better associations and the impact your work has on others. Gaining specific feedback can also help you decide which direction to move forward in, lead to the development of a new series of work, guide curatorial or installation choices for a gallery exhibition, or even spark creative energy during those moments where you feel stuck and unsure of where to go next in your creative endeavors. Group critiques are a safe and casual place for all to share their opinions, feedback and questions!

Carolyn Pierotti is a multi-disciplinary artist who primarily works in acrylics.  Her work is an ongoing discovery of self and women as they age.  She has been featured in multiple galleries and is held in corporate and private collections.  While maintaining her artistic practice she served as the Exhibitions Coordinator and Vice President for the Pittsburgh Society of Artists.  She also held a seat on the President’s Council for the Humanities at Carlow University.  She has created engaging exhibits and programming as Director of Percolate Gallery, and she is the current owner of Purple Room Fine Art which is a digital platform for her work.  She is a teacher, a mentor, public speaker….
