She holds a Master of Arts degree in New Arts Journalism from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with concentrations in intersectional feminism and contemporary art criticism, as well as, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Art & Creative Writing from Eckerd College. She has worked at a wide array of museums and art organizations such as the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, United States Artists, Arts Alliance Illinois, Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble, and Canvas Chicago. She is the previous Gallery Operations Manager at the Boston Society for Architecture. She is a published writer, and has written for the Chicago Reader, FNewsmagazine, and contributed to Sixty Inches from Center. Her most recent curated exhibition collaborations include: IGBoston Snapshot; New Visions: Of Designed Environments; and Architecture of Time at the Boston Society for Architecture. Her independent curator work has made its way through Chicago’s DIY spaces, and her installation and preparatory work include: Balancing Act: Urbanism & Emerging Technologies; Our Boston: Voices from Kindergarten; and The Reasons Offsite at the Boston Society of Architecture. Zara approaches her work with an integrative intent. She has conjectures about the self, identity, and human connection that implicate and saturate her methods of design, curation and practice.

Critiques provide an opportunity for artists to receive feedback in a group setting. Common practice in art schools, “Critics” are a way for students to share their work with each other and grow and evolve their practice. Radiant Hall’s Group Critiques are designed to give artists access to valuable feedback from peers and professionals outside of an academic institution. This program is open to all types of artists and creatives, no art education experience necessary.
Bring physical work to share/show or a laptop to share digital pieces. There will be nails/tacks available to hang up works during the critique.
