The Shortest Distance features the work of four outstanding Radiant Hall artists. The exhibition will open at mossArchitects during UNBLURRED on August 4th, 2023 from 6pm to 9pm and will run until August 27th.
Frank Menchaca (RH McKees Rocks) is a writer, musician and artist. Frank was born in New York and currently lives in Pittsburgh. His professional career revolves around sustainability in automotive and aerospace engineering with SAE International, where he is President of Sustainable Mobility Solutions. Frank has also has deep experience in publishing humanities reference, fiction, and art books.
Karen Howard (RH Homewood) is a retired teacher who taught in Pittsburgh Public Schools. Her love for words and story has developed into a second career as a writer and poet.She is a committed fellow and teacher leader of the Western Pennsylvania Writing Project, an affiliate of the National Writing Project. She nurtured her love for writing by teaching the craft to numerous young people in the Pittsburgh area for decades. She is a member of the Pittsburgh Poetry Society and resident of Radiant Hall.
Ivory Eddins (RH Homewood) is a local Pittsburgh artist and musician. In her art she uses a variety of different materials such as acrylic, watercolor, gouache, oil pastels, ect. She takes inspiration from nature and spirituality.
Deavron Dailey (RH McKees Rocks) is a mixed media artist from Detroit, MI, now living and working in Pittsburgh, PA. One of the recurring themes of his work explores the comparisons and contrasts of these two industrial cities, with special interest given to landscape differences, social climate, times of economic hardship, and each city’s response to these challenges. A variety of artistic media is used to create his work such as screen printing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, drawing, writing, and more. Often times a number of these forms of artistic media find their way into one project.
