Sounds of Silence is a collection of original works by Kathy Mazur incorporating American Sign Language with abstract art to raise awareness about the Deaf community. Each piece calls attention to a sign that expresses positivity, caring, connection, or listening--even if it’s without using your ears.
This project is supported in part by the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council through its Allegheny Arts Revival Grant and by the National Endowment for the Arts. To find out more about how National Endowment for the Arts grants impact individuals and communities, visit www.arts.gov.
